PHYSICAL THERAPY
Physical Therapy

What is Physical Therapy?
Physical Therapy is the treatment of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular problems that affect one's ability to move or function correctly. The problem can be the result of many things - an injury or accident, an illness or medical condition, even the result of bad habits. Whatever the reason, the result is limited movement, compromise of function and/or pain. We help the individual return to a state of function and mobility safely and as quickly as possible.

Evaluation, Treatment and Rehabilitation
Our physical therapists are highly skilled and trained in the assessment and evaluation of acute and chronic injuries and neuromusculoskelatal disorders. Using a team approach in conjunction with your physician, a comprehensive program is designed and implemented for the management of these disorders in a safe and supportive environment.

AQUATIC PHYSICAL THERAPY
Aquatic Physical Therapy

How does Aquatic Physical Therapy Help?

  • Aquatic physical therapy helps you take the first step towards your recovery. Early intervention following injury or surgery is critical for a successful recovery.
  • The healing powers of water reduce inflammation, promote blood flow and allow an injured area to exercise more easily and safely than on land.
  • The buoyancy, support and accommodating resistance of water enhance exercise and create a safe environment for progressive rehabilitation. The temperature of the water prompts muscle relaxation, facilitates stretching and generally reduces the sensation of pain.
  • Resistance increases sensory awareness and allows for improvement in balance and strength in all directions.

INDUSTRIAL PHYSICAL THERAPY
Industrial Physical Therapy

What is Industrial Physical Therapy?
Industrial physical therapy deals with injuries or problem that are work related.

Workhardening
Our workhardening program is designed to educate and strengthen the injured employee by safely progressing them through levels of work simulation training. This helps the individual return to work with a low probability of re-injury. Insurance companies seek out functional programs such as ours, because of the practicality and rate of success. We offer one-on-one training from sedentary to very heavy work duties with multiple simulations to cover all areas and type of work situations.

Functional Capacity Evaluation
An FCE is an objective test used to examine all physical demands set forth by the Dictionary of Occupational Standards to determine ones functional abilities and limitations in their particular employment function. This exam can be performed after the initial phase of rehabilitation, prior to a workhardening program, or any time a patient's physical limitations are questioned. It is recommended that an FCE be conducted before any patient who has sustained a job-related injury return to work.

ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is based on an ancient philosophy that uses the body's own energy force to help in healing. Acupuncture aims to keep the flow of the body's energy called Qi, free and uninterrupted through energy paths called meridians. When an energy source is blocked, disruptions occur, and acupuncture aims to restore the flow of energy so that balance and healing is achieved.

AQUATIC PERSONAL TRAINING
Aquatic Personal Training

Maximize Success!
Personal trainers design an innovative and personalized program that offers more gain for less pain. Most successful people are busy and don't have time to waste on methods that don't work. Personal trainers empower the client with exercise science researched programs that are safe and effective. They use specialized knowledge, top of the line equipment and are part of the health care continuum.

How is Water Training Different
Aquatic personal training is different than land training because of the unique properties of water. Personal trainers maximize the properties of water to help clients get results. Research has confirmed that simply copying land movements in the water will not achieve the same intensity or results. Using the water specific equipment is the key for keeping the programs progressive, interesting and effective.
