Bucks Physical Therapy is a comprehensive orthopedic rehabilitation provider. Bucks PT specializes in research-based physical therapy, work conditioning/hardening, functional capacity evaluations, sports medicine and performance and aquatics.
Bill Gregory, established Bucks Physical Therapy in January of 2000 in a 1,200 square foot storefront on Upper Holland Road in Richboro, Pennsylvania. He hired a full time physical therapy assistant, and counted on family to man the front desk and keep the accounting and personnel functions going. The small outpatient clinic grew steadily as Bill’s reputation for personal service and excellent care grew among Bucks County’s medical community.
In 2002 Bill opened a second clinic in Langhorne, PA., and hired Steve Pertes to manage it. Steve has more than twenty years of clinical experience treating patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal problems. He is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and also holds a Masters of Science degree from Tri-State College of Acupuncture. Bucks Physical Therapy was now prepared to offer Acupuncture Energetics and Trigger Point Release Needling to its other services.
As a result of their commitment to quality care and to fostering strong community ties and relationships, the company continued to grow and flourish. In 2005 Ed Zimmerman came aboard to manage a third location, this one in Warminster, Bucks County, Pa. Ed is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association, with over twenty years of clinical experience.
Ed’s arrival provided another key ingredient in the company’s recipe for success. Bucks PT added Functional Capacity Evaluations and work hardening to its range of services.
Shortly after the addition of the Warminster location, Bill decided that the business had outgrown the original clinic, and started to scout a new location in Richboro in order to expand. It was also a dream of his to offer aquatic physical therapy to compliment the other services offered at Bucks PT.
He purchased land and a building on Almshouse Road in Richboro. The building had formerly been a nursery and garden center, so there was a lot of work to be done. Major renovations were planned and the building doubled in size from 5,000 to 10,000 square feet. Bill was able to add a separate pool room, locker rooms and a fitness facility.
As a resident of Northampton Township, where the original clinic was located, Bill took a special interest in community service opportunities, sponsoring many local sports teams and non-profit organizations. Athletes Helping Athletes, Field of Dreams, and the Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund are just a few of the organizations that were, and continue to be, recipients of Bucks Physical Therapy donations.
The year 2009 was a busy one for Bucks PT as it continued to expand its by providing athletic trainers to the minor league hockey team Philadelphia Revolution and becoming the trainers for William Tennant High School in Warminster, Pa.
In 2010 Bill decided to expand physical therapy services in Bucks County by opening a satellite site in Bensalem, Pa. To make the fourth location become a reality Bill hired Mike Walsh, MSPT, to oversee clinic operations.
Buck PT is taking therapeutic techniques such as acupuncture and aquatics, as well as customer service, to the next level. Our company is proud to offer more than the average facility. We feel it is vital to give every patient an extremely personal and attentive experience from the moment they walk through the doors. Everyone from the front desk staff to the therapists who are directly involved in patient treatment is dedicated to giving our patients the best!
“We’re a full service, people oriented facility,” Bill maintains. “We don’t want people to feel like a number here. We care about our patients and get to know not only their disabilities, but also the patients themselves.”
