Bucks Physical Therapy is proud to offer athletic training services to several semi-professional organizations, high schools, athletic club programs and sporting events throughout Bucks & Montgomery County areas. Bucks PT’s Athletic Training team is highly skilled in the prevention, emergency care, assessment and management of sports injuries and illnesses. Our Certified Athletic Trainers work in conjunction with local physicians as well as our own Doctors of Physical Therapy to establish safe, progressive programs that will not only enable an athlete’s return, but will help prevent future injuries.

Athletic Directors, coaches & managers alike prefer our ATC’s because of the cutting-edge expertise they exhibit on the field, court and rink. Moreover, with our prompt response time and schedule flexibility—all can be assured that an injured athlete is in the right hands with Bucks PT’s ATC team.

Meet our ATC Team

Melanie Cardell, ATC

Melanie graduated from Temple University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Athletic Training. She started her career as the head athletic trainer for Radnor High School where she worked for four years. Melanie continued on to become the athletic trainer for St. Hubert School for girls and then Allentown Central Catholic. In the fall of 2016, Melanie brought her expertise in sports medicine and orthopedic injuries to Bucks Physical Therapy. Melanie currently resides in Quakertown. She was a volunteer firefighter for seventeen years and fosters rescue cats. In her spare time, she is an avid Roller Derby player for Penn Jersey Roller Derby.

Cara Carrelli, ATC

Cara obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Xavier University in 2014 before earning her Master’s in Athletic Training from East Stroudsburg University in 2016. During her time at Xavier, she had the opportunity to work with the majority of Xavier’s athletic teams including tennis, women’s soccer, volleyball, and women’s basketball. Cara was also a member of the cheerleading squad at Xavier for two years. As she continued her education at East Stroudsburg, Cara served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, primarily working with the women’s soccer and lacrosse teams who were both nationally ranked. She joined Bucks PT in the summer of 2016 and is the head athletic trainer at Cairn University.

Josh McCune, ATC

Josh is a 2016 graduate of the Millersville and West Chester Dual Degree Athletic training Program. He majored in Biology and Athletic Training and received minors in Coaching and Chemistry during his time at the two universities. While at Millersville, Josh was an active member of the Moose Ultimate Frisbee team, performed with the university Improv Comedy troupe, Improv Molotov, and worked as a student ambassador.

Josh joined Bucks Physical Therapy shortly after graduating in 2016. After about a year of working in the various clinics, Josh began as the Head Athletic Trainer at Bucks County Community College. He currently splits his time between the clinic in the mornings and the college in the afternoons. In his spare time, Josh enjoys working out, playing in a soccer league, serving as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Philadelphia Phoenix, and performing/teaching Improv Comedy with the Lancaster Improv Players and Lights, Camera, Acting.

Amanda Snyder, MS, ATC

In 2011, Amanda started at Bucks Physical Therapy as the athletic trainer for Morrisville Middle/High School in Morrisville, PA.
A native of Bucks County, she graduated from Central Bucks High School East. In 2010, Amanda earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Trainer from West Chester University. In 2011, Amanda continued her education at East Stroudsburg University and is earning her Master’s Degree in Athletic Training.
Amanda has been dedicated on continuing her education in the field of sports medicine. She has also initiated a program at Morrisville that allows students interested in athletic training to shadow and experience the profession before going into college.
Amanda enjoys staying active in sports, having played softball and an inline speed skater for 10+ years; she is always playing something. She also enjoys hiking, camping, reading, playing and watching sports (an Eagles and Phillies fan), and hanging out with friends and family.
